Last week we read the book God Gave Us Easter by Lisa Tawn Bergren. It talked about the Easter bunny being like Santa, in that he or she reminds us of gifts and happy surprises in the morning. But that Easter is really part of a bigger story about our relationship with God. The moral of the story is that God loves us always no matter what. We don’t have to earn that love, it is freely given. We don’t have to be perfect. In fact it is guaranteed that we will make mistakes. We are still loved. Some people are able to hear God say I love you when they pray or meditate. Others “hear” God loves them through a loved one’s embrace. Other’s “hear” that God loves them when a certain song plays on the radio. Others “hear” it through the sense of peace they get in nature. Others don’t “hear” anything but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. God Loves You just as you are. God wants the best for us and hopes we will be the best version of ourselves we can be. However, God Loves You Just as You Are! Be the wonderful version of you that God created. Love yourself the way God loves you. Share that love with others. During this time of Lent, remind yourself of this wonderful gift that we receive at Easter and every day.
