CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
Children of all ages, with all their sounds and movements, are a welcome part of the gathering for the Sunday 10:30 worship and are an integral part of the community. While it is perfectly appropriate to keep kids in the pew during worship, if a baby or toddler would be happier being able to crawl around and play, there are Kids’ Corners in both side aisles. These are enclosed and safe spaces for small children (attended by their parents) to play quietly on the floor while staying in church. Additionally, there is a room in the back of the church that has a rocking chair and a changing table where parents can attend to their child’s needs. Also, there is a staffed nursery available for toddlers through age 5, creating an atmosphere of nurture, fun and safety. Children are invited to participate in services by helping pass the collection plates and bring the offerings up to the altar. Coloring pages are offered each week related to gospel readings.​​
Children participate in the Christmas story for the Christmas Eve service by coming dressed as angels, animals or shepherds (no rehearsal necessary), and older children are an integral part of decorating the church both for Christmas and Easter. Following each Easter service, to help children celebrate, we provide butterflies falling from the balcony along with bubbles. There is an egg hunt in the courtyard following worship as well.
Outside of the 10:30 service, we offer family events including Christmas sing-along gatherings, Halloween, Cinco de Mayo and Mardi Gras parties, as well as seasonal lunches with a bounce house so families have an opportunity for fellowship and children an opportunity to run and play. ​​​​
Baptisms are held during the 10:30am worship 5-6 times each year. Confirmation for teens is offered on an as needed basis. Contact the church office or Rector for more information.
