Trinity Weekdays

The Community of Trinity offers classes in each Session that encourage creativity and alternate thinking, alternate ways of doing, and alternate ways of being in the world.  As we encounter God outside the realm of theology, our spirituality is deepened and our awareness of the holy all around us is heightened.

Trinity Place Classes

Study Pods...
are small book groups that meet for three sessions in someone’s home or even a restaurant, to read and discuss a book or series of articles, each with a theme that other folks at Trinity are also engaged in reading.  There are three scheduled Study Pods, each meeting three times with the following themes: “What if all Trinity read the same book?”; (October weeks of 10, 17 and 24); “Christmas Pods@Trinity” (December weeks of 1, 8 and 15); and the “Love Pods” (the weeks of January 31, February 7 and 14). Other pods may spring up spontaneously at any time.

Wednesday @ Trinity...
beginning in October and running for four sessions, participants will meet for dinner and then divide into one of two seminars for the evening.  Cam will offer a “Seekers Seminar” and Holly will facilitate a discussion using a DVD series entitled “Uppity Women of the Bible.” This dinner/seminar format will reconvene with new topics during Lent in 2011. Each session will include dinner, requires pre-registration and will cost thirty dollars per person (to cover the cost of meals).

Thursday @ Trinity...
the 12 Steps are not just for people in recovery any more!  An Episcopal priest used St. Ignatius’ ‘Spiritual Exercises” to developed the 12 Steps of AA and we have taken those 12 Steps and use them for a weekly worship experience.  Participants hear readings, prayers and a reflection rooted in a 12 Step theme for the week but utilizing other spiritual texts as well.  The worship includes a guitar chorus and rhythmic drums and is followed by a discussion for those who wish to stay.

Cam’s Restaurant Tour...
is this just an excuse to eat good food and have great conversation?  You bet.  Scheduled irregularly, each meal is a stand-alone conversation and limited to eight with a reservation in advance.  Everyone pays for his or her own meal and Cam brings a discussion theme.  Keep your eye on the Enews or Sunday Announcements for the next one.
