Letting Go
Cam asks how you are getting through this time of crisis and where you discover peace and strength and hope.
We just deleted Sare’s Blog from our website and it reminded me that letting go is an evolution not a once-done kind of action. Letting go, as it turns out, is often painful. I am thinking now of the fiscal crisis and how many dreams have been let go. I am thinking of the fiscal crisis and how much pretense of security has vanished. I am thinking of the fiscal crisis and how much ordinary ease and care-freeness has evaporated. There is a lot of letting go that is taking place these days and it is painful. Now and again we hear the comforting refrain that these hard times will remind of what is really important - a kind of fast - but most of us are not easily comforted by trite euphemisms. No doubt there will be good that comes out of these difficult times but not necessarily or by fiat, only by reflection and openness.
I am surrounded by the anxiety of others while working hard to stay centered. I hear a great deal of the struggles and the pain while also trying to keep boundaries and own what is mine and not taken what belongs to others. Soooo… Tell me how you are doing? How are you getting through this time of crisis? What’s working for you? Where do you discover peace and strength and hope in the midst of other people’s anxiety? I look forward to learning from you.
