Profile of Congregation
Trinity is a metropolitan house of prayer. We’re a community of worship and spiritual inquiry and we welcome all people. We recognize our common brokenness, even as we rejoice in the reconciling love of God. Because of this, we embrace the diversity of the Christian faith as expressed through the Episcopal Church, we nurture one another in our spiritual life, we proclaim the love of God for all people, and we do it in the voices of each new generation, gathering the wisdom and resources of the community of faith to name and heal the wounds of injustice.
Open
You are welcome to participate in all aspects of the worship and programming here at Trinity. The doors of Trinity are wide open, the table set for everyone and we make it our mission to be radically hospitable. Whatever your spiritual tradition or background, whatever your lifestyle, whatever you previous experience with organized religion, we welcome you and hope that you can find a place of joy and peace in the midst of this community.
Inclusive
We make a serious effort to use gender-inclusive language in all of our worship texts and to find translations and prayers that will appeal to a wide variety of backgrounds and tastes.
Challenging
You won’t get easy answers at Trinity. You won’t get pabulum or spiritual hand-holding. You will be challenged spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. You will be stretched and prodded and encouraged to go deeper. You will not be told what to believe but you won’t be allowed to be complacent either. Our worship and sermons put a premium on the authenticity of a worship that sends us out to change the world. We don’t promise to make you comfortable or feel good but we do promise the sense of liberation that comes from being in a place and among people with whom you can be real and really be yourself.
